Zafirov: BSP wants a supra-party cabinet based on priorities

Position of the Socialists

The BSP would negotiate for support for the second term if there is talk of a supra-party, temporary cabinet based on priorities. This was stated by the acting chairman of the BSP, Atanas Zafirov, in the program “Offensive with Ljubo Ognyanov”.

„First let's see who will go to the second term. With the speed with which the parties in the National Assembly are swarming, we may come up with a new hypothesis. "Until the mandate of a specific mandate holder arrives, everything is in the realm of assumptions and hypotheses," Zafirov stressed.

The swarming of parties, however, in his words, was indicative of the state in which the parliament is and the possibility of issuing a government.

BSP's view of a supra-party, expert, temporary and programmatic government. However, Zafirov emphasized that this was the view of the BSP for the third term.

„What is the difference between the second and third mandate holders? We want to see a different mentality of the mandate holder. Due to the low voter turnout and the total delegitimization of the parties in this parliament, it is difficult to talk about winners. "Party interests must be second," Zafirov said.

He emphasized that in order to get support for the second term, negotiations must first be held, and for that the BSP must receive a mandate for negotiations from the National Council.

„We are ready to call him, upon invitation. If we see that there is talk of a supra-party, nationally responsible, fixed-term cabinet based on priorities, I believe with a great deal of confidence that our National Council would give us a mandate for negotiations,” said Zafirov.
