Warning from the highest, third degree, code red, for extremely hot weather, was also announced today, BNT reported.
Expectations are for highs in most areas of 38° up to 42°, in Sofia – about 37°. It will remain sunny throughout most of the country, but there will be rainfall and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours in the northern and mountainous regions.
On the seaside it will be cloudless with maximum temperatures of 32° to 36°. The excitement of the sea will be weak, and the temperature of the sea water near Varna is already 29°.
Unusually warm in the mountains too. The maximum temperatures in the resorts will be around 30°. And there in the afternoon hours it will rain and thunder in places. The wind will remain moderate, with a direction from the east-northeast.
On Friday and during the weekends there will be rain and thunder in more places in the country, and the temperatures will gradually decrease. With the upcoming cooling, as well as with the expected precipitation, the risk of fires will decrease, which will remain very high and extreme today in almost the entire country.
