Zhelyazkov: Parties should not give advice and guidance to who are official ministers

We owe more responsibility and care to the spirit of parliamentarism, more commitment to the Constitution

Our firm opinion is that political parties should not to interfere and give advice and guidance on what the official cabinet should be and who should be nominated for prime minister and ministers. This was stated by GERB deputy Rosen Zhelyazkov at the consultations with the president.

He expressed satisfaction with the position of the President regarding the position of the Speaker of the National Assembly. "It should not be determined by a certain and desired design who will be the acting prime minister," he added.

"We owe more responsibility and care to the spirit of parliamentarism, more commitment to the Constitution. The opinions of individual groups have a limit where the powers of the president begin," Zhelyazkov believes.

The head of state initiated the constitutional procedure after all three exploratory mandates were returned unfulfilled. So Radev started talking about which of the possible candidates will become the new caretaker minister. The current Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev has stated that if the post is offered to him again, he will accept.

The Speaker of the 50th National Assembly Raya Nazaryan has already refused the post on the grounds that the Prime Minister should not be a prominent political figure.
