The Ministry of the Interior expects a long and "heavy" investigation of the explosions near Elin Pelin

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRRD) and the Ministry of the Interior (Ministry of the Interior) are creating a working group to draft changes to the Ordinance of the Regional Ministry for Planning and design of constructions intended for the production, storage and trade of weapons, ammunition, explosives and pyrotechnic articles

The investigation of the explosions near Elin Pelin will be long and difficult, said acting Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov. Our actions were adequate and professional, he noted.

Kalin Stoyanov visited the village of Gara Elin Pelin, where a warehouse for fireworks and pyrotechnic equipment exploded on July 25, at the invitation of the mayor and the local people. I have come to talk to people, to instill confidence in them and, above all, to tell them where and how we have come and what lies ahead, explained Stoyanov.

When asked about the fate of the warehouses - whether the activity will be restored and whether it will be in the same place, Stoyanov said that he is skeptical that this will happen. Everything related to the warehouse, especially construction documents, is a priority of other ministries and institutions. We have only the final issue of a trade and storage permit, Stoyanov specified.

After this tragic incident, in which unfortunately four people lost their lives, I think it will be very difficult to rebuild the warehouse here in the same place, he added.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRRD) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) are creating a working group to develop changes to the Ordinance of the Regional Ministry for Planning and Designing Constructions, Designed for the Production, Storage and Trade of Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives substances and pyrotechnic articles.

Asked to comment on Kiril Petkov's words that if he remains interior minister in the next cabinet, the elections will not be fair, Stoyanov said: "Very interesting statements, once again, months after the elections. We witnessed the same some time ago along with rotations, along with the formation of a caretaker government". We hear the same thing now, three months after the elections, provided that we have an extremely high assessment given by people from Europe who were there, added Stoyanov.

Asked whether he would remain interior minister in the next cabinet, Stoyanov said it was difficult to comment. He reiterated that he was ready to finish what he had started.
