District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv is monitoring the pre-trial proceedings for the incident in Plovdiv in which an MIA officer was shot today.
Inspections are being carried out, expert examinations will be appointed and witnesses will be questioned. Vanya Hristeva, district prosecutor of Plovdiv, is on the spot.
The policeman shot dead by his 6-year-old son in Plovdiv is Nikolay Filipov. He is 49 years old. He was a shooting instructor in the Specialized Police Forces in the regional city, BNT reported.
The policeman was killed at his workplace with his service weapon. The incident happened around 17:00.
The tragedy took place in the building of the Specialized Police Forces at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city.
