The chairman of “Vazrazhdane” – Kostadin Kostadinov announced through a publication on the social network Facebook that the Bulgarian state has refused to provide protection for the Bulgarian hostage in the USA Milan Dimitrov.
„„Revival” begins a fundraising campaign to ensure the protection of the Bulgarian hostage in the US. I remind you that Milan Dimitrov has been held in Greek and American prisons for almost 2 years on trumped-up charges by an American prosecutor because of his trade with Russia. I requested with an official letter from Prime Minister Glavchev that the state hire a lawyer to take care of his defense. Glavchev also officially refused me, explaining in his letter that the politicization of the case would have been even worse, therefore our state should have remained silent and pretended to be pleasantly distracted. Moreover, in his reply letter to us, Glavchev also warns “Revival” not to interfere, because our defense could have a bad effect on our compatriot.
After it became clear that our country will not protect a Bulgarian, and since we cannot leave one of our compatriots in the captivity of a criminal regime, such as the Biden regime in the United States, we took the following actions:
1. We talked to the Russian embassy to help free the hostage, as Milan Dimitrov is also a Russian citizen.
2. At our meeting in the Russian Parliament with the chairman of the group for Russian-Bulgarian friendship Vasiliy Ikonnikov, we raised the issue there as well. Russia is already actively investigating the case.
3. With the help of our American friends, we found a good lawyer in Texas, where our hostage is being held. The amount he asked for the whole process is $150,000.This sum equals about BGN 250,000. It is not large by American standards, but it is not small by ours. However, it would not be a problem “Revival“ to pay it from his grant, but it cannot be used for the benefit of individuals. It is also not possible to send a Bulgarian lawyer, because he has yet to familiarize himself with the entire American law and legal system, and the process will start very soon. That is why some of us caucus MPs have already donated $10,000 from our personal funds, which was paid as a down payment to the lawyer. We will donate more, of course, because the amount must be collected quickly, since the process starts in a few weeks, and far from all our deputies have donated money. But our money alone will not be enough. Therefore, I call on you to help, as much as you can, for the release of the Bulgarian hostage. It is obvious that the state is us, its citizens, because for years our rulers have been employees of foreign embassies. Every Bulgarian can fall into a similar situation, because those in power in Bulgaria clearly do not protect our rights.
The account for raising the required amount of 150,000 dollars is in the name of Alexander Dimitrov, brother of Milan Dimitrov. The account was opened at First Investment Bank:

Let us show that the state may have abandoned our compatriot, but the Bulgarian people have not abandoned him! I also urge you to share this publication as much as possible so that as many Bulgarians as possible understand and get involved!“, Kostadin Kostadinov wrote on the Facebook social network.
