The split in DPS and BSP reflects the process of the disappearance of the political. Sociologist Kolyo Kolev explained this to the BNR.
"The only consolation is that it is not only a typical Bulgarian trait. It is a sign of the global insanity that accompanies the geopolitical realignment".
Kolev also commented on the coalition agreement signed today by the BSP with 15 left-wing parties for joint participation in the early parliamentary elections on October 27. He defined it as "an important step, but not enough".
"The left was in a rather loose form until now, thanks to Mrs. Cornelia Ninova, who did everything possible to spread it out".
The sociologist called the fight in the DPS "crazy" and noted that there is a danger of putting things on an ethnic level.
"The Bulgarians want to take away our party, some of the Bulgarian Turks will say".
Kolev noted that the main thing is missing in the political battle – the offer to voters.
"More and more people are alienated from this superficial debate".
He believes that politicians are counting on voters to make an emotional rather than an informed choice in the upcoming vote.
