„Only a week after the entry of Atanas Zafirov Borisov came out and said: “BSP is an acceptable partner”. Something he hadn't allowed himself to even think about saying before.
This was stated in the program of Darik radio “The Staircase“ the People's Representative from “BSP for Bulgaria” Georgi Svilenski.
And added:
„ 15 years since Borisov ruled and 8 years since Ninova was chairman, Borisov did not allow himself to even think about saying that the BSP could be a partner. He always said – “I have a decision in congress“, “they killed my grandfather“, “they put us in prison“ and what nonsense he spoke about the BSP. But now, after the entry of Atanas Zafirov, he said – “BSP is an acceptable partner for us”. Before that, the chairman of our parliamentary group, Borislav Gutsanov, stated that he had “respect for GERB”, Svilenski pointed out.
„We see Peevski's long hand both in the court decision and in controlling the leadership of the BSP. Socialists are furious in places. People in places see the treason that is being carried out right now, dressed up under the nice slogan of the New Left – a united left, but in the end it is neither new nor left, but a long line of Peevski and Borisov”, Georgi Svilenski is categorical.
In his words, Peevski and Borisov have struggled for many years to subdue the BSP, and this will be the party's role in the next parliament.
“Because these people are already indebted to Peevski and they must repay their debt, and when you are dependent, when you owe - you fulfill”.
According to Svilenski, the problem of Ninova and the people who support it is that they are independent. Asked what it means, the socialist gave an example – to be able to vote as you see fit. And not to leave the hall when voting or press "for" when the correct decision is "against". “ This is what Ninova struggled with. The moral is to be consistent, especially when people follow you, because there, in the parliament, you represent them.
“People without morals took control of the leadership of the BSP“, Svilenski said, stressing: “Ivan Chenchev and I were not in the leadership, those who are now accusing her prepared the decisions – Zafirov on the coalition policy, Gutsanov - on the organizational one, Vigenin - on the international one. And I don't know how they walk among people today. Because when you want something new, you say: yes, we failed, let's all take a step back and let the young come. And they, after Ninova resigned, fought over who should sit in her chair”, commented the socialist.
Svilenski was categorical: “We will not participate in other lists or in other parties. I am a member of the BSP. The fact that a management has decided in an official way to eliminate me is their decision. If they conduct their election campaign, I cannot help a leadership that will bring in a parliamentary group that will serve Borisov and Peevski. We collected 10,000 signatures for the registration in 2 days – proof that people want pure BSP“, he pointed out.
In the conversation about the political future, Svilensky pointed out: “I see a desire in people for something left, but not this left - dependent and subordinate. After the elections, we will see what our comrades think.
„When you propose laws, many times they are good for society, but they bring electoral failure for the party or criticism. Svilenski commented on this in connection with the law on LGBT propaganda, which the parliament recently adopted.
„ The Criminal Code - when we agreed to confiscate the cars of drunk and drugged drivers, we from the BSP were the importers, I was the chairman of the transport commission. How many criticisms there were, they went around all the media, all kinds of specialists, pseudo and not pseudo. However, the facts showed that the cases dropped sharply, and this is not said by Georgi Svilenski, but by the Ministry of Transport, said the socialist.
According to Svilenski, the LGBT propaganda law is the same – “we may lose a few tens-hundredths of electoral risk, but save the children”, he commented. According to him, the criticism among Bulgarian society is because “it hasn't occurred to us yet, we haven't realized it as a problem, but it is there”.
“You saw at the Olympics. It is unacceptable now, there is nothing to talk about, this cannot be the opening of the Olympics, with this demonstration, propaganda of any kind – men, women and… something else. Freedom, nice, no one says anything, let there be equality, we are not against it, but after 18 years. Let the children grow up on their own and when they grow up, then let them make their own choices. This hormone therapy, which is required, is extremely dangerous, according to experts. And I say again – if there was no big problem, why is there so much resistance?”, said Svilenski.
The socialist added: “I cannot accept that the progressive left is to defend that there are 42 genders and that I am a member of a party that defends that. Seeing the reaction, we must have affected someone's interests.
In the conversation about politicians and trust: “It is good in the election campaign for politicians to come to a studio like yours and state their positions. Sure, right. A position on who they will govern with, for example. No, yesterday I listened to Mr. Zafirov spin – “we will wait for the people to sort us out”. Why are you spinning, say that Borisov invited you to the government and you want to participate in a government with GERB. What are you hiding? Say who you are and if you have support – walk the path you are given. By not supporting you – you stay at home“, responded Svilenski.
About the decision of the court in the leadership case in the BSP: “The great battle that the BSP has been fighting over the years is against the parallel state. Now we have seen it with our own eyes through the judicial system, through the registration or deregistration of parties. On decision-making. In our case – same case, In 2022 the court says that Ninova's resignation should be ascertained at a congress and she is the president and 1 year and 8 months later the same Supreme Court says that the resignation should not be ascertained at a congress. So, how can there be trust in society? This disgusts“, Georgi Svilenski concluded.
