„What happened in North Macedonia was inevitable. This is a country that has been declared occupied by all European institutions and organizations that monitor the rule of law for 10 years.“
This was commented on bTV by journalist Lyubcho Neshkov in connection with the fire in a disco, in which people died, and the subsequent protests.
„In Macedonia, it is a matrix that has been imposed for 10-15 years. It has been in effect since 1945, when during the Tito dictatorship this model of government was imposed, when those in power appointed incompetent people. The system is rotten with only one goal – to exist in the service of one ideology, one regime. What happened in the disco is the tip of the iceberg, the last one – it was inevitable“, is Neshkov's opinion.
„This is about a system where nannies are hired at power plants. People without primary education are hired as police chiefs. This is not a coincidence, this is for the purpose of this regime functioning“, he also said, adding that North Macedonia is partisan.
„The two serious incidents, which were a kind of trigger for the protests in North Macedonia and Serbia, show the problem with institutions and corruption, but in my opinion it has much deeper roots. Something similar is happening in Greece“, commented for his part Chief Security Expert at the Center for the Study of Democracy Tihomir Bezlov.
„There is a very strong protest culture in Greece – much stronger than Bulgaria and Romania, for example“, he added.
According to him, what the VMRO-DPMNE government has tried to do is “simply let the storm pass“.
“All kinds of people will be charged. The Minister of the Interior is probably quite valuable not to resign. The government is less than a year old and can afford to explain how the culprits were in the past. What I see at the moment will not lead to any dramatic changes. A circus is being played out“, Bezlov believes.
