The preparation of "Bulgarian Posts" employees for the social function of exchanging levs into euros, as well as the opportunities for digital training of employees in the state-owned company, were discussed at a meeting today between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov and the President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria Plamen Dimitrov. Plans for future logistics are already being coordinated with the Bulgarian National Bank. Public procurement for equipment has been announced and contracts are pending.
During the conversation, priorities in communications, water, air and road transport were discussed. Representatives of sector organizations and enterprises participated in the discussions. “Only through dialogue can we move forward“, were the words of the Deputy Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting.
To improve digital skills, the President of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB) pointed out that employees can be qualified under a project financed under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, of which only one fifth of the funds have been absorbed.
The government's plans for concessioning port terminals and other infrastructure facilities were also a topic of conversation. “Bulgaria ranks last in the European Union in this type of public – private partnership. This topic will determine the future of Bulgaria in the next 10 years“, was categorical Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov. He assured that the plan for the sites being prepared for concession will be discussed with the unions.
The development of Burgas Airport, as well as the need to appoint more inspectors in the “Automobile Administration“, were also among the issues raised by the representatives of the CITUB.
A meeting on the development of railway transport is scheduled for next week.
