The Council of Ministers approved a Work Program for the implementation of road safety measures. It includes 43 measures that will be taken at the national level with specific commitments, deadlines and responsible departments for each of them, the press center of the Council of Ministers reported, quoted by Nova TV.
Among the activities are:
- Carrying out joint specialized inspections on the road and strengthening control over truck overloading;
- Simultaneous establishment and imposition of administrative penalties;
- Automated issuance and notification of road violations;
- Enhanced technical control on all roads where there are the most deaths and injuries;
- Urgent securing of 36 sections with a concentration of road accidents, as well as another 500 km of road sections with increased risk;
- Recordings from cameras of municipalities and other state bodies will now be able to be used as evidence for issuing administrative penalties;
- Increasing the requirements for the transportation of children and students;
- An electronic report is being introduced for road accidents in which there is only material damage.
