The spokesperson of the Bulgarian delegation to NATO in Brussels, Vesela Atseva, told BNT that there was no hacker attack against the delegation, no leak of sensitive information.

PP-DB MP Ivaylo Mirchev published a post on social networks earlier today claiming that the Bulgarian representation to NATO was the victim of a hacker attack with an alleged leak of sensitive information.

According to the MP, the alleged source of the attack is Russia.

"Since the Bulgarian institutions have been silent on the topic since April 2025, I asked a question to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the National Security Service. The worrying moments are that sensitive information was leaked, and we were notified of the breach by NATO, instead of those responsible for our cybersecurity. Additional concern is the fact that there is no data on the preparation of an analysis of what happened, the Ministry of Defense was informed a month after the attack during a meeting of the Cybersecurity Council, and the National Security Agency (DANS) does not seem to be working on the topic. According to unofficial information, instead of the National Security Agency (DANS), "Information Service" has been activated, which speaks more of an attempt to cover up the tracks than to investigate and get to the source of the attack," Mirchev also writes.
