The Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova and MPs participated in the solemn dawn rally in Vratsa on the occasion of the 149th anniversary of the feat of Hristo Botev and his detachment and in memory of those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria.
Residents and guests of the city gathered on the central square “Hristo Botev“ to honor the sacrifice of the great poet and revolutionary and the fallen heroes. The solemn dawn inspection on the occasion of June 2 – The Day of Botev and those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria is the culmination of the celebration of Botev Days in Vratsa.
The military ritual in the city center was attended by President Rumen Radev, Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly Nikoleta Kuzmanova, Atanas Atanasov and Juliana Mateeva, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov, Vice President of Bulgaria Iliyana Yotova, Mayor of Vratsa Kalin Kamenov and Metropolitan Grigoriy of Vratsa.
To honor the memory of Botev and the heroes who died for the freedom of the Fatherland were members of parliament from all parliamentary groups, ministers, MEPs, the regional governor of Vratsa Nikolay Nikolov, leaders of political parties and organizations, municipal councilors, mayors of municipalities and a delegation from the French city twinned with Vratsa Villeneuve-le-Roi.
The ceremony in front of the 12-meter monument to Botev was attended by representative companies of the military garrison in Vratsa, generals, officers, sergeants, soldiers, students and pupils.
