Investigating the death of an elderly family in the home in Yagoda

The death of a family housed in the illegal home for the elderly in the village of Yagoda in the Maglija region is being investigated by the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office. The reports were filed by relatives who insist on verifying the facts surrounding the death of the man and woman who died in the first months of this year.

The reports were received today. They will be filed and attached to the pre-trial proceedings, which are investigating a total of five crimes committed in the two sites of the former home for the elderly.

The 62-year-old owner, two other men, 36 and 37 years old, who were responsible for the so-called "rooms for rent" after the documented closure of the home.

Charges have also been brought against three women aged 54, 56 and 68. They are for unlawful detention of the elderly, the act being carried out in a torturous manner for them. For endangering the lives of the residents, as well as for hiding their personal documents and preventing the control authorities from fulfilling their duties.

Two of the women who were supposed to take care of the people are charged with causing moderate bodily harm.

Forensic, toxico-chemical and pharmacological examinations have been ordered. Witnesses are being questioned and the discovered material evidence is being analyzed, the prosecutor's office also specified.
