Hampartzumyan: I am skeptical that the state can lower prices, but it must put pressure on the gray sector

The state must put pressure on the gray sector so that we can more accurately identify our fellow citizens who really need support and support them

I hear a lot of things about how the digital euro will drain our money, we will pay the debts of large countries – it is not true. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by financier Levon Hampartzumyan in connection with the fears expressed by some Bulgarian citizens about Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone.

The digital euro has not been introduced, but it is a concept that is being discussed. At the same time, a large part of the monetary circulation is paperless today, through payment transfers and orders. On the one hand, this creates inconvenience, but on the other hand – a huge bunch of amenities, said Hampartzumyan.

I am skeptical that the state can administratively lower prices, but it can create conditions through which prices are within reasonable limits and can counteract any sudden changes in the market. The key is that each consumer has the final say whether to buy or not to buy something, the financier pointed out.

The state must put pressure on the gray sector so that we can more accurately identify our fellow citizens who really need support and support them. Administering prices is mission impossible, but suppressing the gray sector is achievable. In this way, it will be possible to help people who really need it. When they are in the same group with other people who have higher incomes, but they are visible, that is where the injustice lies, commented Levon Hampartzumyan.

„We will be merciless“: CPC, CPC and NRA signed a general agreement against unfair traders before the adoption of the euro

Our entry into the eurozone is not a factor that contributes to inflation. There are other factors that contribute to this, such as the weather conditions that have a great impact on the price of cherries, as a result of which the harvest was almost destroyed. The market is what regulates valuables, not committees and regulators. The euro, the lev, the dollar or any currency is the matrix by which we measure our economic success. From there, other factors determine prices, Hampartzumyan also said.
