Valentin Radev: Mitov's actions are a projection of what his ministers tell him

Everything comes down to a decision by the Ministry of Interior. Fifty million people work there, that's why the focus is there. This reaction was not so much against the death of Yavor from Varna, but against the Ministry of Interior

Tension in the Ministry of Interior system after the death of Yavor Georgiev from Varna.

"Everything comes down to a decision by the Ministry of Interior. Fifty million people work there, that's why the focus is there. This reaction was not so much against the death of Yavor from Varna, but against the Ministry of Interior," said former Deputy Minister of Interior Valentin Radev on "Denyat ON AIR".

According to him, we must be very careful about trust in institutions.

"Mitov's actions are a projection of what his ministers tell him. To choose a chief secretary. There is a problem with the president, but let them solve it. The deputy ministers also had to help him with advice. Instead of temporarily removing people, they fired them. The camera that everyone saw is just one of the things. The prosecutor's office will collect everything and in the end the truth will be revealed," Radev added to Bulgaria ON AIR.

According to him, the minister's job is to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Quality people should come in and salaries are the problem. And even if there were cameras, these guys with their bare hands went to fight a person who is drugged and healthy and hugged him, instead of having the right means. Why don't they have an electronic baton, tasers? They just left. The minister does not need to come out and explain, he has another task," explained the guest.

Radev expressed hope that with the help of the United States the conflict will be resolved.

"There is no direct threat to Bulgaria's national security, but there are other threats. Hopefully there will be no escalation, one conflict in Central Europe is enough for us. We are across the sea from them," pointed out the former interior minister.
