Assoc. Prof. Burudzhieva: It would be a big mistake if the PP continues in the same way

It is time for the PP-DB coalition to create serious visibility in order to appear stronger and more united, said Prof. Svetoslav Malinov:

„In my opinion, this resignation /bd. of the co-chairman of "We continue the change" Kiril Petkov/ was dictated by the fact that something more specific happened – people who had defended and carried the name of this party through elections started to give up their membership in the party and leave. This is the bigger problem – in the internal state of the PP, besides the problem of corruption“.

This was stated by Assoc. Prof. Tatyana Burudzhieva from Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“.

“I don't remember a case in which, without collected evidence and proven guilt, we had a double resignation - of a leader, but also an exit from the National Assembly. I explain it with the specifics of the party (PP – ed. note). One of the few ways to preserve their identity is such an action“, explained Prof. Svetoslav Malinov from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“.

And he stated that now is the time for the coalition to create “serious visibility, to appear stronger and more united, because now it simply looks like a coalition of three parties“.

Assoc. Prof. Burudzhieva specified that the biggest mistake the PP can make from now on is to continue as they have been acting so far.

„From their very inception, they have not looked like a party and must be structured as an organization. Regardless of what they are called, in order to exercise power, you must be organized, you must have sufficient opportunities for internal communication. They have obviously not spoken to each other so far“, she said.

According to Prof. Malinov, the most dangerous thing now would be for the party to make hasty decisions. Since it is currently in its fourth hour of the National Council meeting, he specified that such meetings usually take between 8 hours and two days.
