The Turkish citizen who suffered a heart attack in the buffer zone of the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint has died, bTV reported.
This is reported by Turkish media and the comments are that the man had no chance of being saved due to bureaucratic obstacles on the part of the Bulgarian authorities.
It is claimed that the Turkish ambulance waited about 20 minutes to receive permission from the Bulgarian authorities to enter the buffer zone to help the patient, but the permission was not approved.
Later, a Bulgarian ambulance arrived at the scene and took the patient to the hospital in Svilengrad.
Despite the doctors' attempts, Shemestin Tan died because the intervention, which in the case of a heart attack, was delayed is critically important in the first minutes.
In the last week of August, the traffic from Turkey to Bulgaria at the GKPPP “Kapitan Andreevo“ is extremely intense and the wait is 3-4 hours.
The reason is that during this period many Turkish citizens who live in Western Europe return home after their vacation.
