The European Parliament has postponed a decision on unfreezing the EU-US trade deal, even as US President Donald Trump withdrew his threats to allies supporting Greenland, Politico reported.

Two-hour closed-door talks ended without consensus on whether to put the agreement, signed in July by Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, to a vote.

Different political groups in the European Parliament remain divided. The European People's Party is pushing for an immediate move on the deal, calling it "stabilising for business". The right-wing and far-right groups also support this approach. Socialists, liberals and "Greens" They want more transparency on the Greenland deal first, citing the unpredictability of the US president.

The next key date is February 4th, when the lead MEPs will meet again. Meanwhile, Commission officials have made it clear that they want the deal to move forward quickly after Trump's withdrawal.
