The Ukrainian prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into a video that appeared on social networks of Russian soldiers torturing a Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kharkov direction of the front and forced them to sing the anthem of the USSR.
The video shows Ukrainian prisoners of war being led blindfolded into a wooded area. The Russian occupiers beat them and make them sing the anthem of the USSR.
One of the Russian soldiers even threatens to kill a Ukrainian prisoner of war and shoots near his head as the latter writhes in pain on the ground.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported cruel treatment and psychological pressure on prisoners of war. The actions of the soldiers accompanying them were called a violation of the Geneva Conventions, according to which prisoners have the right to humane treatment. Journalists have identified one of the Russian soldiers. He is Alexei Kyprin from St. Petersburg, 32 years old. The criminal is the commander of an assault company with the call sign "Bars".
Russia commits war crimes in Ukraine on a daily basis, with evidence of 133,000 so far. The actual number is dramatically higher because many of the Russian aggressor's war crimes are not documented.
