The leader of a NATO country said that a “nuclear armageddon” is possible, commenting the permission for Ukraine to attack with Western weapons targets on Russian territory, writes the Ukrainian agency UNIAN.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev accused NATO of Russia's involvement in the war in Ukraine and that this could lead to an "escalation" and "nuclear armageddon", the Ukrainian agency said, citing svobodnaevropa. bg.

It is noted that Radev's statement coincided with statements by Kremlin officials that NATO is to blame for Russia starting the war in Ukraine and that the conflict is leading to a nuclear escalation.

Radev's words come after some NATO member countries gave Ukraine permission to use their weapons on Russian territory.

"With the decision to allow Western weapons to strike deep into Russia, and with the formalization of sending advisors and instructors to the front line itself, these red lines have already been crossed, and unfortunately our politicians are becoming part of them inadequate decisions with all the resulting consequences", said Radev.

As is known, the Bulgarian president takes a pro-Russian position on the war in Ukraine, which contradicts Bulgarian national interests and the position of Bulgaria, which is a member of the EU and NATO.

Radev stated that he never claimed that Bulgaria had decided to send its troops to Ukraine. "Our so-called Euro-Atlanticians are cowards and incapable of such a decision on their own, because they know they will be excommunicated, rejected by society,”, he said.
