Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said he doesn't listen to what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba are saying .
Lavrov also has in mind their words regarding the prospects for ending the war. “Just recently there was talk of negotiations”, recalled the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and “Zelensky mentioned his readiness (possibly) to sit down at the table with Russian representatives”.
„I don't listen to them, frankly”, Lavrov admitted at a press conference in Laos, commenting on the latest statements of the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry about Kiev's alleged readiness to negotiate with Moscow.
In recent days, Kiev has radically changed its position regarding possible negotiations with Moscow. First, Zelensky signed a decree prohibiting any negotiations with the Kremlin, and now he openly states that he is ready for such.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is closely following the twists and turns in the US election campaign. Mykhailo Podoliak (advisor to the Ukrainian president) said that President Zelensky is convinced that his government has established good relations with both sides of the vote.
„Ukraine has good relations with both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. It is not about personal relationships at the candidate-leader level. It is about institutional relations between the American parties and the parties and institutions in Ukraine, he added. “Irrespective of who is at the helm of the White House, I do not see a scenario in which it will be possible to stop aid to Ukraine”, he concluded.
