Vietnam's parliament will hold an extraordinary session today, where the deputies will vote on the appointment of three new deputy prime ministers, as well as on the release of two from this position, Reuters reported. The legislature will also vote on the appointment of new environment and justice ministers, BTA cited.

The parliament's statement did not mention the names of the candidates or the removed members of the government.

The changes come after a period of political upheaval during which two heads of state and one speaker of parliament stepped down amid accusations of "improper actions".
