Israel carried out airstrikes on an industrial site in the city of Homs and a military site in the area of the city of Hama in Syria, Syrian state television reported on Thursday, quoted by "Reuters". As a result of the strikes, "known material damage" was caused, and a fire broke out in the car factory in the industrial zone of Homs. Firefighting teams are working to control the fire, said the director of the plant, Amer Khalil, quoted by News.bg.
Explosions were also heard in the Syrian city of Deraa, and their causes are currently under investigation.
Israel has been attacking Iran-linked targets in Syria for years, but has stepped up its strikes since the attack by the Palestinian group "Hamas" against South Israel on October 7 last year.
