European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will take part in a meeting dedicated to Ukraine, which will be held on Sunday in London, a commission spokesman announced, BTA reports.

The forum is organized by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and will bring together the leaders of France, Italy, Germany, Poland and other allied countries. The main topic will be the joint response to US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Ukraine.

Issues related to the conflict will also be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of the European Council in Brussels next week.

Regarding the cancelled meeting in the US between EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the EC spokesperson said that this was due to scheduling conflicts.

He did not give a specific answer as to whether the meeting had been confirmed in advance and what the exact reason for its cancellation was.

When asked about the possibility of the US imposing tariffs on EU imports, the spokesperson stressed that negotiations are ongoing and until they are finalized, the European Union will not reveal what retaliatory measures it may take.

He specified that it is technically possible for tariffs to be imposed only on some EU countries.
