Moscow responds to Rutte: Zakharova defends Medinsky after NATO criticism

Russian Foreign Ministry accuses NATO Secretary General of personal attacks and "torment of dissatisfaction"

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte allows himself to insult the aide to the Russian President Vladimir Medinsky because of his own "suffering from unfulfilled goals". This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in response to Rutte's words that Moscow did not send "serious people" to the negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey, reports Focus.

Zakharova emphasized that Rutte himself dreamed of becoming a pioneer, but in the end he graduated with a master's degree in history. According to her, this fact is the basis of his "torment of dissatisfaction" every time history is mentioned.

The statement is part of the growing verbal escalation between Russia and NATO amid ongoing tensions over the war in Ukraine and failed diplomatic attempts at a peaceful solution.
