Mazda has unveiled the successor to its infamous 6 sedan, which now bears the name EZ-6 and presents a sophisticated model created in collaboration with Changan Mazda. Available in fully electric and plug-in hybrid variants, this car embodies Mazda's renowned Kodo design ethos, showcasing an illuminated grille and eye-catching retractable door handles.
Beneath its sleek exterior, the EZ-6 impresses with rear-wheel drive, achieving a balanced 50:50 weight distribution and featuring an advanced multi-link rear suspension system. The electric model promises a range of 599 km in the China Light Truck Test Cycle (CLTC), while the plug-in hybrid variant increases its range to 1,000 km.
In terms of dimensions, the EZ-6 measures 492.1 cm in length, 189.2 cm in width and 148.3 cm in height, representing slightly larger dimensions than its predecessor - 6. Despite its achievements, Mazda specifies , that the EZ-6 does not replace the traditional Model 6, which will continue to exist separately.
Although it shares a platform with the Changan Shenlan SL03, the EZ-6 elevates the driving experience with a luxurious interior tailored for a more prestigious atmosphere. Although the cabin deviates from Mazda's global offerings, the innovative "floating" center console serves as a focal point of sophistication.
