The fastest production car with front-wheel drive, the Honda Civic Type R, arrived in Bulgaria on the eve of the birthday of the classic model of the same name. With its debut, the new generation of this hot hatch once again won the title of the fastest front-wheel drive car in the world.
The car is equipped with a gasoline two-liter four-cylinder VTEC TURBO engine, which is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox. Its maximum power is 329 hp. at 6500/min, and the maximum torque - 420 Nm at 2500-400/min.
Honda Civic Type R sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and develops a maximum speed of 275 km/h. The new generation of the cult model is available in four main colors – Rallye Red, Racing Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Sonic Gray Pearl. Another feature of the car are three main driving modes – Comfort, Sport and +R, as well as Individual Mode with the possibility of personalization.
Measuring 4,594mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,401mm in height, the new Civic Type R is 13mm lower and 15mm wider than its previous generation. The equipment also includes 19-inch matte black rims, combined with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/30R tires specially developed for the model.
Despite its sporty nature, the Type R is also a practical hatchback and enjoys an extremely large trunk for this class of cars with a volume of up to 1,212 liters. Safety is taken care of by a package of systems and assistants united under the name Honda SENSING. Included are a collision warning system with automatic brake application, lane keeping assist, adaptive autopilot, and more.
