The once popular Honda Element crossover may appear again on the market, but now in the form of a camper-transformer. The other interesting thing about the innovation is that an electric motor is planned as a drive unit for it.
The publication Car and Driver shared patent images of the upcoming novelty. Judging by them, the new car will have the shape of a pickup truck with an angular design and high ground clearance. It will also feature several sliding sections that attach to the car's roof and cargo bed, increasing its functionality. However, the dimensions of the model with these upgrades will also increase by about two times.
According to the second patent, the pickup truck will have an adjustable cargo compartment partition. Depending on the position, it will be able to change its dimensions. In the unfolded state, the novelty will be able to compete with Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz in terms of dimensions. Honda offers a roof extension when the bulkhead is in its extreme position to provide more interior space.
It's worth noting that this SUV isn't as obvious as a reference to the Element we know, as it has a blocky, rugged look with a front trunk that extends upwards and transitions into a cabin-independent trunk at the back. When the news will be presented, there is no information. However, the probability of the appearance of such a model in the brand line is quite high, as Honda believes that it will perfectly enrich their model range.
