The leader of the political party "Alternative for Germany" Björn Hecke arrived at the regional elections in a Lada Niva Legend SUV. The politician chose a Russian car as a means of transport to reach the rural area of Eichsfeld, which is partly unpaved. Despite the fact that the Russian car is perfectly suited for such terrain, the current German government criticized Hecke for this choice of transport.
The party "Alternative for Germany" (AfD) does not support the anti-Russian sanctions and the current government of the country. Arriving at the elections in a Lada Niva Legend, Björn Hecke once again emphasized the course of his party. In the last regional elections for the European Parliament, the AfD won 15.9 percent of the vote, which is the best result in the entire history of the party.
We will recall that before the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, Lada cars were sold in Germany. Niva Legend SUVs were most popular among local residents. At the same time, you can still find the Samara, Vesta, Kalina and even Zhiguli models on the streets of some German cities.
At the end of August, it became known that VAZ cars, which were discontinued many years ago, continue to be registered in Germany. In particular, local car enthusiasts register mainly “weeks” and “fives“, which are already considered classic cars.
