Hyundai Ioniq 5 N gets even better for drifting - 1

The 2025 model year Hyundai Ioniq 5 N electric crossover will debut in South Korea with new features such as downshift memory and hill start assist. It's been a little over a year since Hyundai introduced the Ioniq 5, but the sporty electric car enters the 2025 model year with a surprisingly large number of changes.

Yes, the car got an updated N Drift Optimizer system that helps the Ioniq 5 N drift even better. From now on, it can be customized by choosing one of the 10 available assistance levels. In addition, the system can now better detect suitable conditions for drifting, which Hyundai suggests will only be on the race track.

Also, the electric car gets Downshift Memory, a function that limits upshifts and is mainly intended for track use. In addition, the car now activates an artificial engine sound when the start function is activated. As we already told you from our test of the current model, the N Active Sound+ mimics the sound of the Elantra N's two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

In addition, the updated Ioniq 5 N also gets automatic high beams and the Walk-Away Lock system, which automatically locks the doors when the driver leaves the car at a certain distance. A tactile alarm on the steering wheel completes the list of updates. The latter means that the steering wheel begins to vibrate to warn the driver when the assistance systems detect danger.
