And the interior of the Dacia Sandero 2026: First look at the updates - 1

Dacia is preparing a significant update for one of its best-selling models - Sandero. The current third generation, which debuted in 2020, is about to undergo a serious facelift. The aim of these changes is for Sandero to maintain its strong competitive position in the European market for affordable cars, where the pressure from Chinese brands and new budget hybrid models is constantly increasing.

Digitalization and modern design in the cabin

Thanks to the latest spy photos, details about the interior of the updated Dacia Sandero 2026 have been revealed for the first time. The key change is the large touchscreen of the multimedia system, which now dominates the central part of the front panel. This screen will not only control multimedia, but also provide access to advanced connectivity features and car settings. In addition, a new steering wheel is noticeable, borrowed from the current Duster models and the upcoming large crossover Bigster. In the higher equipment levels, a fully digital instrument panel is provided, which will replace the traditional analog panel. This is a direct response to the expectations of the younger audience for a higher level of digitalization even in the budget segment.

The interior design is minimalist, with an emphasis on ergonomics and functionality, while also following modern trends. The highest equipment levels are expected to offer higher-quality materials, which have so far been reserved for more expensive models. The aim is to reinforce the perception of the Dacia brand as offering “more for less”, while maintaining affordability.

Hybrid versions and competition

The changes will also affect the engine range. In addition to the familiar petrol and LPG (propane-butane) versions, Dacia will add hybrid powertrains to the Sandero for the first time. Both a mild hybrid version (MHEV) and a fully self-charging hybrid, similar to the one used in the Jogger Hybrid 140 model, are planned. This will position the new Sandero as one of the most affordable electrified cars in its segment, allowing it to compete effectively with models such as the MG3 Hybrid, which is already actively promoted on the European market.

Upcoming premiere and exterior changes

Dacia plans to present the updated Sandero in the fall of 2025. during the IAA Mobility motor show in Munich. Sales are expected to start in early 2026. After the restyling, the model will receive not only technological updates, but also slight changes to the exterior design, including new optics, modified bumpers and a possible update of the radiator grille.
