The Japanese corporation Toyota Motor plans to build new car plants in the US worth up to $10 billion, US President Donald Trump announced.
“Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi just told me that Toyota plans to build car plants in the US worth up to $10 billion“, he said, speaking to US military personnel on the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, based at the Yokosuka naval base in Japan.
Earlier, the Kyodo news agency noted that the goal of this deal is trying to eliminate the trade imbalance between the two countries, which Trump has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with. Japan exports approximately 500,000 cars annually to the US market.
