China welcomes long-term investment from US companies in its economy. This was stated by He Lifeng, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, who is responsible for government finance, at a meeting in Beijing with the head of the US investment company Blackstone, Stephen Schwartzman.
“We welcome the participation of more US companies and long-term capital, including Blackstone, to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China and promote the healthy development of Sino-US economic and trade relations“, Xinhua quoted Lifeng as saying.
Schwartzman, for his part, noted that Blackstone is fully confident in the development of China's economy and is willing to continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market. The American company will play an active role in promoting trade and economic ties between the two countries, he added.
Blackstone entered the Chinese market in 2007. The company's management regularly visits China and meets with the country's top leadership.
