I do not expect Russia to enter into a direct clash with NATO. This was stated by former Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neinsky on the air of “Offensive“ on NOVA NEWS. Her comment comes after the unprecedented entry of Russian drones into Polish airspace.
“19 drones simultaneously lost orientation – it cannot be a coincidence“
According to Neinsky, what happened cannot be explained by a technical error.
“19 drones simultaneously lost orientation and entered Polish airspace. I don't think anyone would think this was accidental. This is a provocation, obviously - testing what the reaction of NATO, Poland and public opinion will be,“ she stressed.
NATO's quick reaction
Neyski expressed satisfaction with the way the Alliance reacted.
“I am glad that NATO reacted so quickly. This means that the reflexes and analysis were very fast and targeted,“ the former foreign minister commented.
According to her, the message from the United States was categorical:
“NATO, including the United States, will defend any ally that is subjected to threat or intervention. This is the American message.“
The Importance of the Eastern Flank
Nadezhda Neyski emphasizes the key role of the countries of Eastern Europe.
„Once again, we see how important it is for the United States and Europe to have stable strategic cooperation. Russia is best known by those countries that have been in its sphere of influence or have a common border with it. It is normal to seek the expertise and help of the Eastern Flank. This is the most endangered region at the moment,“ she pointed out.
Russia and the Strategy of Fear
The former Foreign Minister emphasized that Moscow uses hybrid methods to destabilize neighboring countries.
„Russia has always relied on instilling fear, on instilling panic. People should say to themselves – whether it will attack us, whether we should compromise so as not to become a target. And Russia has already declared us an enemy state. What bigger target than that?“
Bulgaria and the “friendship“ with Moscow
Neyski recalled that our country was often treated by Russia not as a partner.
“Russia sold gas to Bulgaria at higher prices than to Germany. What kind of friendship is this? Bulgaria is part of a community of democratic states. Our only chance for defense is unity,“ she is categorical.
Regarding Ursula von der Leyen's speech, which stated that Europe is in a fight for its future, Nejnski said the following:
Support for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine
„There were several key messages in Ursula von der Leyen's speech. One, of course, was regarding the war in Ukraine and the need for a stable peace that would guarantee the country's interests, its independence and territorial integrity. The support was clearly stated“.
According to her, the European Commission has placed a very clear emphasis on the situation in the Middle East. According to Nejnski, the speech also included economic requests, which some analysts perceive as “playing with the left“.
„We saw a search for balance – both in the Middle East and in Europe-US relations. But regarding the war in Ukraine, there was complete categoricalness,“ she pointed out.
The murder of Charlie Kirk and the division in the US
“Radicalization in any case is something extremely dangerous. Any society that radicalizes is practically a time bomb. No one knows what this radicalization will lead to – as in the case of a political assassination,“ the former foreign minister commented.
