Arguing with lies is stupid, because the truth is always in the facts, not in public blasphemy. The entire lot between Kalotina and Dragoman of the "Europe" motorway was built between 2021 and 2023, and the construction of the section between Slivnitsa and the bypass road was carried out at an accelerated pace. This was written on his official Facebook profile by Andrey Tsekov, a former regional minister and MP from the PP-DB. The statement comes after the last section of the “Europe” motorway was symbolically opened on Sunday.
"Today, a notorious liar boasted that he had built the last section of the “Europe” motorway between Slivnitsa and the Sofia Ring Road. He also said that nothing had been done in the last three years. Arguing with liars is stupid, because the truth is always in the facts, not in public blasphemy", Tsekov wrote.
The symbolic opening of the road section of the motorway became an occasion for political references. "When we opened the motorway to Niš, we were confident that very soon, within 1-2 years, we would complete the Bulgarian section, but 4-5 years of timelessness followed. Now, thanks to the coalition wisdom, the partnership with Minister Ivan Ivanov, BSP, ITN, we are able to complete what was delayed for so many years," Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told journalists.
GERB leader Boyko Borisov, in turn, pointed out that the project should have been completed three years ago.
“With this highway, we are loading you into Europe, into Schengen. The ministers are performing miracles of courage. When we initially started, the road passed through settlements, through forests. It should have been ready three years ago, and now the result is that it costs us 50% more”, Borisov said.
