The employees of the “Fiscal Control“ of the NRA have placed the larger stock exchanges, markets and warehouses across the country under surveillance. The control actions started on the morning of September 16 and so far, nearly 3,500 trucks and vans transporting goods with high fiscal risk, such as fruits and vegetables, meat, etc., have been checked at the entrance and exit of the sites. Tax inspectors require documents of origin of the goods, as well as whether all sales made at the retail outlets are being reported, and whether the obligations for registering and reporting sales in accordance with regulatory requirements are being complied with.

In some of the outlets, the inspectors have found violations such as the lack of a cash register, failure to report revenues in real terms, invoicing at lower prices than the sales prices, etc. During the time they have been present at the exchanges, markets and warehouses, the fiscal inspectors have reported increased turnover compared to previous periods.

In order to avoid the inspection teams, some of the risky traders have moved their activities outside the markets and exchanges. That is why the NRA employees control and sanction illegal trade outside the borders of the commodity exchanges.

„We have placed as many outlets as possible under surveillance, both in the area of the exchanges and outside them. Our goal is to ensure the correct reporting of turnover and payment of taxes due. We are also doing this to protect traders who comply with the law. The results of the observations and inspections will be analyzed, after which we will take the necessary actions to prevent attempts to evade taxation in the stock exchanges, markets and warehouses“, commented on the inspections, Deputy Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency Evgeni Nankov.
