President Rumen Radev sharply attacks the leaders of the parliamentary majority - Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov.
"There are probably reasons for President Radev to be so sharp, I have wondered many times why he is like this. I know him from a general, but probably politics works that way for him. His words are political. The services are not conquered, they are depoliticized, they do not deal with politics, including their bosses. Prime ministers, ministers resign, we held fair elections - this is democracy. We are not the only ones who have the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "It's there in other countries too," said former Interior Minister Valentin Radev in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
He himself is not convinced that President Rumen Radev is a balancer.
"If we assume that this is the balance so far and we are disturbing it, then there must be some reason. The rulers said what it is - the conversation is difficult, there was no Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for six months, we put him in and now do we have to haggle again? There must be conversations, but because the political calendar is getting tight, the presidential elections are next year and the president decides to behave this way. I know how dialogical Boyko Borisov is, Zhelyazkov too, but why are these conversations missing," Radev asked on Bulgaria ON AIR.
The guest is categorical that there should be a dialogue in the name of the state.
"The Prime Minister is one and he bears responsibility. We all talk about who is in command, who wants, who gives answers, but do these people forget that the ministers sign, the Prime Minister signs... I have not even heard of a purge in the National Security Agency, professionals work there. You should not talk like that - either you have evidence and give it where it is needed, or don't talk so harshly. Relocations do not mean a purge. Politicians should be careful when they label and say such things, because it reflects and people look down on them, repeat them," the former interior minister emphasized.
Asked if there was a reason to demand Daniel Mitov's resignation, Radev replied: "No, there was no reason in connection with what happened in Ruse. He suffered for a long time that he did not have a chief secretary".
