Vazrazhdane: Is the photo of Zhelyazkov real or a photo with a wax figure of Trump? - 1

“Vazrazhdane” sent a letter to the Council of Ministers regarding the photo of Rosen Zhelyazkov with Donald Trump.

In over 100 headlines in the Bulgarian media, information appeared, apparently submitted via a press release, according to which Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov discussed the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the US with Donald Trump. The information was apparently submitted by the Council of Ministers.

So far, the US president's office has not yet announced anything about the important meeting at the highest level. There is nothing on the subject in the US media either.

The same photo of Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova appeared in the Macedonian media, in which Trump is in a similar pose as in the photo with Zhelyazkov, which seems implausible.

“Vazrazhdane” sent a letter to the Council of Ministers today asking whether the photo of Donald Trump and Rosen Zhelyazkov is authentic or a photo next to wax figures of the American president.

The political organization will send letters to the CEM, the Commission on Journalistic Ethics and the Union of Bulgarian Journalists, requesting an opinion on the reliability of the information sent by the Council of Ministers, which has been published in over 100 Bulgarian media outlets.

If the press release sent by the Council of Ministers represents disinformation that deliberately affects the polarization of public attitudes and reinforces public division on important issues, then this is yet another proof that this government is harmful to Bulgaria and must resign.

The publication of the release by over 100 media outlets in the country would put on the agenda the question of how much the media check their sources and the information they receive and present to the attention of the general public.
