The regional governor of Burgas region Vladimir Krumov has activated the BG-ALERT early warning system for the Elenite holiday village area.
The measure is being taken preventively in connection with expected heavy rainfall and in order to ensure the safety of everyone in the area.
The Crisis Headquarters urges citizens to strictly follow the instructions of the Ministry of Interior and the Fire Department, BNT reports.
In the next 24 hours, everyone in the area of the village will receive a message with the following text:
"Large amounts of rain are expected! Access to the Elenite holiday village, Nessebar municipality, is limited today at 3:00 p.m.! Do not enter the territory of the settlement! Follow the instructions of the Ministry of Interior and Fire Safety! Regional Governor of Burgas Region".
The authorities are suspending access to the resort complex from 3 p.m. today until further notice. On Sunday, the police set up checkpoints, including to protect the property of the evacuated people from looting. Shop and homeowners will be allowed to prepare their goods and collect their most necessary belongings, the police emphasized.
