The deputy chairman of the BSP parliamentary group "United Left" Kiril Dobrev commented on the idea of the leader of the UDF Rumen Hristov that the president should not have the right to participate in politics for two years after the end of his term.

Dobrev noted that over the past two years, the BSP has repeatedly spoken about the need for a broader public dialogue and emphasized that Rumen Radev was nominated for president precisely by the left.

"It sounds very Stalinist to me. There is a person, there is a problem. There is no person, there is no problem. In fact, if Mr. Hristov reads the Constitution, it says that every Bulgarian citizen can vote and be elected. We have nominated Rumen Radev twice. I have participated in two of his campaigns. Whether he will form a party or not depends solely on him," said Dobrev.

He also commented on the governance of the capital.

"If the people of Sofia had made the right choice in the person of Vanya Grigorova, today there would be a strong municipal company that would deal with the garbage and we would not be talking about public procurement or money coming out of the pockets of the people of Sofia." Such an example was in the municipality of Blagoevgrad, a municipal company created by Mr. Paskalev, which to this day is handling the garbage in the municipality of Blagoevgrad perfectly", said Kiril Dobrev.

The chairman of the SDS Rumen Hristov proposed that after the expiration of the president's second term, he should not participate in active politics for a period of 2 years.

Regarding the behavior of the president, Rumen Radev Hristov said that the head of state had deviated from his main functions. In his words, Bulgaria needs a regular government that would work actively to enter the eurozone.

"First - this is a personal opinion, because his statements have become very long and very frequent. Second - I believe that Bulgaria needs a regular government that would help us enter the eurozone more easily. The president is trying from morning to night to overthrow, if I may put it that way, this government. And from this point of view, he is losing focus and not fulfilling his basic duties as president. I give an example, which is typical in all democratic countries - the EU, the USA, Canada, etc. - a "cooling-off period", that is, a period of cooling," said Rumen Hristov.
