The adoption of any country's budget has clear deadlines and a clear path. It is expected that by October 31, the Council of Ministers will have completed the entire process and all consultations with social partners and stakeholders, and the state budget will be submitted to the National Assembly. This will be the country's first budget in euros, the challenge is great. We should not question Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. Despite the fact that only a few months remain, there are still steps that need to be taken. This was said by Zornitsa Rusinova, Chairperson of the Economic and Social Council of Bulgaria, in the “Interview in NOVA News”.
She pointed out that our country already has experience with the budget not being adopted by the end of the year, but expressed hope that this will not happen.
“There must be serious responsibility regarding all budget expenditures. There are concerns from experts from the Ministry of Finance. We must first observe financial discipline, and we must also be responsible in terms of how much we collect and how much we spend”, Rusinova further explained.
She expressed hope that our country will not enter the Greek scenario.
Rusinova believes that "in recent years, social spending has increased a lot, which is not bad, but we must be aware of where they come from and where they are going".
