The restructuring of the government at this stage is firstly through the marginalization of the small ones, secondly - a tendency or at least an effort to strengthen "DPS – New Beginning“ and to become the leading force in this quadruple coalition. BSP and "There are such people“ are clear. This was said by political analyst Prof. Alexander Marinov in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus“ on Radio "Focus“.
"I think that really none of these four players (ed. GERB, DPS-New Beginning, BSP - OL, ITN) do not want elections, although for different reasons. The small ones, BSP and "There are such people – because they will most likely fall out of parliament, GERB - because what happened in Pazardzhik will most likely happen to them, i.e. they will most likely be displaced from their previous unwavering status as the largest party", he added.
"And Peevski probably prefers to entrench himself even better, to conquer even more positions in many places, just as he managed to do in Pazardzhik, so that his future victory will be even more certain. In addition, he holds the others, and especially GERB, in an iron glove and it is obvious that they will fulfill his every wish", the professor added.
"The dynamics of Bulgarian politics are currently reduced to the relations between Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov. As long as there is no rift between them, caused by certain reasons, the government will not be dissolved, since nothing will change. The only thing that will change is that "DPS - New Beginning" will be officially in power and that GERB and especially Boyko Borisov personally find themselves in an even more difficult, even more humiliating and losing position. That is, this trend, which was previously less pronounced, and some even thought that it was not so guaranteed, is strengthening," he explained.
"Borisov assigned Zhelyazkov to negotiate with them, but they ran away and declared their readiness for anything even before he had even said that he would talk to them, especially the BSP. This is such a disgrace, such a humiliation for an old party that I have no words! This will continue, the question is at what pace. The question is whether there will be no attempts at resistance. This resistance may not be discovered, but it could be in these deep murky waters where Borisov is most skilled, so he could somehow try to slip Peevski or take advantage of his enormous ambition and the fact that he does not stop at anything. At this stage, that is it," he added.
Prof. Marinov described the opposition as ineffective and toothless.
"Even a part of the opposition demonstrates visible satisfaction with its status, with what it clearly and implicitly draws from it," he said.
"PP-DB gathered some energy and if we talk about the situation in Sofia, maybe it is worth talking there, because in a certain sense it turns out to be profitable for them. But anyway, they are not in a flourishing situation, especially since the leadership of "Yes, Bulgaria!", with these daily complaints and cries of how strong and scary Peevski is, how he is conquering the state, they are just advertising him" commented the professor.
Prof. Marinov stated that the Budget "not only has it not been submitted, but not a word has been said about what it will represent, what it will stand on, what guidelines it has". He notes that in past years, even if the project was not ready, it was a topic for discussion.
"Now there is complete silence, as if we are in March, and not in mid-October. That is, this government is not in a flourishing state at all and the question from now on is not only who will enter and how, but how they will exit it after some time. This is also an interesting question," he added.
He commented that the reason Peevski "hypnotizes most of the other politicians is because someone doesn't hypnotize them - for example, the president doesn't hypnotize him - is because they are dependent and feel that he can crush them, or at least hit them so hard that they can't recover. And the other part - simply because they are weak, weak, soft, cowardly."
