Russian spies are giving migrants advice on how to avoid deportation from Britain and other European countries. This was stated by Bulgarian Interior Minister Daniel Mitov in an interview with The Times. He added that Vladimir Putin's regime and far-left groups are working with human traffickers to flood Europe with migrants.
Mitov warned British teenagers who help “neo-Marxist groups“ on the border between Bulgaria and Turkey that they face prison and large fines if they help migrants enter the European Union illegally.
Bulgaria joined the EU's Schengen area in January, meaning migrants entering the country illegally via Turkey can reach the rest of Europe much more easily.
Mitov said some NGOs were “perhaps unknowingly“ helping Russia and people traffickers through their activities. “These are neo-Marxist groups that try to justify their actions through philosophical or ideological constructs”, he told The Times.
”The influx of illegal migration is a tool used by hostile regimes to destabilise the European Union and the United Kingdom. They seek to destabilise social welfare systems. By smuggling radicalized individuals, they create problems for our security“, Mitov said.
He accused No Name Kitchen, which works “to protect freedom of movement“ along migration routes in the Balkans, the Mediterranean and the Sahel region, and Mission Wings, a charity based in Bulgaria that primarily protects children. Both organizations deny any allegations that they are helping traffickers.
Mitov also said that Bulgaria must secure its border because “every house needs strong walls“.
