The Parliamentary Group of "DPS - New Beginning" called on the Minister of Finance to provide financial resources for the purchase of cars for the presidential administration.
The call is in connection with the amendments to the Law on the National Security Service adopted by the National Assembly, after which the presidential institution was left without a fleet of vehicles that would be available to its administration. The formation recalls that until now the employees of the Presidency were the only state administration that used the cars of the National Security Service.
"DPS-New Beginning" sent a letter to the Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova, in which it is insisted on urgent action in coordination with the presidential administration to provide the necessary financial resources for the purchase of vehicles and the necessary personnel for this. This should happen by decree of the Council of Ministers.
The presidential administration should have its own fleet of cars, like all state institutions, regardless of who the incumbent president is, because the institution is important, not the person who represents it in a certain period of time.
Radev's advisors and secretaries are not more privileged than the officials and employees in the ministries, agencies, etc. state structures, and they should be served by the institution's fleet of cars, as is common practice, add from "DPS-New Beginning".
"Radev's cheap PR tricks to ride in his wife's car create difficulties and tension for the employees of the National Security Service and the Ministry of Interior, and are expensive - since a huge human and technical resource is harnessed for his security, due to the non-specialized cars and walks. Demonstrations that compromise the authority of the presidential institution and the state, and the “packaging“ of this action as an act of empathy for the employees, is blatant demagogy and hypocrisy," they also write from "DPS-New Beginning".
