Rain and cold will cover the entire country over the next 24 hours, BNT reported. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology announced an orange and yellow code for dangerous weather for today.
An orange code is in effect for the districts of Kardzhali, Haskovo, Yambol and Burgas, where significant amounts of precipitation and temporarily intense rain are expected. A yellow code for precipitation has been declared in the rest of the country.
Precipitation is expected to be heaviest in the southern and eastern regions, and in places it will be accompanied by thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will be between 6 and 11 degrees, and daytime temperatures will not exceed 15-17 degrees.
In the mountains and on high fields, the rain will turn into snow. The wind will be moderate, in the eastern regions - temporarily strong, from the northeast.
Forecasters warn of a risk of local flooding in the low-lying parts of the country. An improvement in the weather is expected at the end of the week, when the precipitation will gradually decrease and the cloud cover will break.
