Rumyana Bachvarova: We don't know what DPS-New Beginning and GERB have agreed on - 1

The main problem at the moment is the lack of any transparency in the agreements for the government. This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by Rumyana Bachvarova, a sociologist, former interior minister and deputy prime minister, as well as a former ambassador to Israel.

We don't know what DPS-NN and GERB have agreed on, apart from the government being supported, we don't know the terms of this support, she stressed. In her words, for the audience this remains "in complete darkness".

According to her, in his statements about the reformatting of the government, Boyko Borisov was sincere, but he no longer has the power to change the situation we are in.

"Borisov, with all his experience, can give an objective picture. The question is whether this assessment of his leads to the corresponding political consequences."

"The defect that is currently manifesting itself was laid down during the negotiations themselves and this predetermined the current situation. It is not clear from the friendly photos whether this defect will be fixed. Tension will continue to build up", the sociologist commented on the program "Predi visie".

"We should not interpret what Peevski meant and what his motives were, let's interpret his actions. We see a certain chaos in the actions. There is a sense of haste."

Against this background, it is noticeable how even when they are not leader-led, the parties are of their leaders and we do not know whether this is the collective will of the relevant political entities, reports Rumyana Bachvarova.

"We do not have viable party entities. Parties in Bulgaria are either leader-led – recognized, proven, but all the others are parties of their leaders. We do not know, for example, in MECH, "Vazrazhdane", what its sympathizers think. This is a significant problem. One person cannot embody the common will of many people."

The BSP will accept any compromises just because it is in power, where it has not been for a long time, but this is not real politics, she believes.

"There is no debate on political issues. We are spinning in a plot of neighborhood relations. And behind politics are the decisions for our lives and the decisions for the future of our country. This is absolutely absent, because the parties do not produce it."

Asked where the ITN are and why they are silent, Bachvarova said:

"In fact, there is no party there. There is a group around the formal leader and all kinds of surprises are possible. There is no politics in this behavior. We have a subject in power about whom we know nothing and from whom we can expect everything."

"People who are afraid of Radev will make him a factor in politics. He is currently a virtual possibility, but even in this virtual version he stands as a frightening factor for the others", Bachvarova added.

A new subject entering the political system means the destruction of certain dependencies and schemes of the current government and the violation of certain interests, the sociologist added.

We will see firsthand how certain classes are bought through the state budget, Bachvarova also predicted. According to her, this is "a continuation of the practice of buying electoral love".

In connection with the idea of rotating the post of Speaker of the National Assembly, the sociologist noted that this is a change in the conditions of existence of power and the rules in motion – "something that is not done in the middle of the road".

"After Raya Nazaryan, who will be next? This is not a political technology."

"We have no signs of instability in the government, except for the opinion of the GERB leader, which turned out to be practically irrelevant. Internal factors guarantee this stability. External factors can influence. The months after the New Year will be quite politically tense", summarized Rumyana Bachvarova, also referring to the "Lukoil" case.
