The state is a cancerous entity that breeds corruption, and in "Lukoil" there is a lot of room for corruption. This was stated by PR expert Diana Damyanova, whose career has largely been spent in the Bulgarian part of the Russian company.
The comment was made in the morning block of BNT this morning.
Damyanova reminded that without a "special manager" of the refinery, Bulgaria cannot hope for an exemption from US sanctions.
She also commented on the idea of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) acquiring "LukoilNeftekhim". "I will put it in the "nonsense"" column, she was categorical. According to her, it is absurd to talk about selling the refinery piece by piece.
According to Damyanova, stopping the refinery is an extremely complex process. "This refinery is not a button that you can press to stop", she said. The expert explained that there are different scenarios and stages for stopping work to different levels, but a complete stop is very complicated.
She also emphasized that "Lukoil" has organized a serious structure for fuel transportation, which the Bulgarian government must foresee in any actions.
Tikhomir Bezlov from the Center for the Study of Democracy also participated in the discussion. He noted that "Lukoil" is generally cooperating with the authorities. "Lukoil" is generally not confrontational, it cooperates," Bezlov said.
