This was stated in “Wake up” the MP from “BSP-United Left” Atanas Atanasov, commenting on a question about the potential choice of a head of state by the Socialist Party.
"Iliyana Yotova is a pretty good option for the Socialist Party and has already been commented on both publicly and within the party. Now I will not dwell on specific names, so as not to create an attitude, but in addition to Iliyana Yotova, we have Natalia Kiselova, prominent public figures and lawyers, such as Yanaki Stoilov. We also have younger representatives such as Krum Zarkov. And many others", he emphasized.
The MP also commented on the rotation of the NA Speaker. He was categorical that his party gave a positive assessment of Natalia Kiselova's chairmanship. Atanasov added that he has no idea who the ITN representative who will take over the post from Raya Nazaryan will be.
"The government is obliged to hold firm. Not because we are afraid of anything, but because of the very context in which we find ourselves. Our country is about to enter the eurozone. We see the dynamics of international politics. All sorts of upheavals that are happening around us and in our country. After a 4-year political crisis, it is high time that Bulgaria has a stable government and a government that guarantees peace and prosperity for Bulgarian citizens," he stressed.
He described Budget 2026 as a "social budget, focused on the person, on labor, on the family". "Our program contains 100 points. The fact is that we have not been able to deal with everything, because the government has only been on the horizon for one year. Give us more time and we will fulfill everything that is written in the program. We also have to take into account the state in which we found the country," he said.
According to him, "the increase in social security contributions was imperative in order for the social security systems to balance". "The division between employer and employee is - 1.12% is paid by the employer, and 0.88% is paid by the employee. "If the employer says that this increase will eat into the growth of the worker's salary - if he raises the worker's salary by 1.12 percent - yes, it will be eaten. But we have almost zero unemployment and business is going up. Insurance is not a tax, it is a right," he pointed out.
