Parvan Simeonov: Borisov secretly keeps his fingers crossed for the protest - 1

"In recent months, when we monitor the indicators "resignation" and "early elections", there have been increases in the percentages of those supporting them, what's more - they have swapped places". This was told to the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist and sociologist Parvan Simeonov from the “Measure” agency:

"If at the beginning of this government most did not want a resignation, let alone new elections, now for some time now, for several months now, those who want a resignation are noticeably more than those who agree that there should be no resignation, but what is new in the last two waves of research is that there is also a growing familiarity with the idea of early elections. Of course, there are still no majorities over 50% on both indicators, but things are on the verge. Keep in mind that our research began immediately after the first protest, covered the second and ended two days after the second protest. If the research had been after the second protest in its entirety, it seems to me that the numbers would have been higher everywhere, so that the already small initial trust in this government is gradually being eroded, but still, one should not forget that there is also a certain habitual skepticism.

"What the protest should not allow is to try to turn into a positive program," the sociologist added in an interview for the "Nedelya 150" program on "Horizont":

"A protest is a negative program. A protest is a protest because it says what should not be done. What should be done, the elections and politicians will say.

"This process of protests will win if it doesn't try to be every day", Parvan Simeonov emphasized:

"These attempts to protest every day only waste away. When a protest is a protest, it shouldn't be a background".

"I don't agree that the police didn't do their job. In my opinion, the police did their job well", the political scientist commented.

"In my opinion, Borisov is secretly keeping his fingers crossed for the protest, because his hope is the unification of these Radevski, Kostadinovski, PP-DB energies, to remove Peevski from the political terrain and Borisov to come to an understanding with PP-DB or something like that in better days. As you can see, he is maneuvering," noted Parvan Simeonov.
